The Janitza UMG 96-PA-MID+ is a universal energy meter designed for advanced energy monitoring and management in TN and TT systems. Certified under the MID (Measuring Instruments Directive), it's suitable for capturing billing-relevant data. This compact device combines three key functions in one unit: energy management, MID-compliant consumption measurement, and power quality analysis. Its advanced features, coupled with a high-resolution color display, set it apart within its category.
MID Certification
Thanks to its MID certification, the UMG 96-PA-MID+ is authorized for measuring and billing electricity usage. Integrated with Janitza's GridVis software, it supports the creation of professional invoices for energy consumption. The device supports ..1A / ..5A current transformers and includes a logbook for recording legally relevant variable changes, such as current transformer settings. For added security, the meter supports password protection and sealable connections.
Scalability
With the optional UMG 96-PA-RCM-EL expansion module, the device can act as an Ethernet gateway for up to 30 compatible MID-certified DIN-rail kWh meters (model B23 312-10J). This makes the UMG 96-PA-MID+ an ideal solution for building management systems, enabling centralized monitoring and consumption-based billing across entire installations.
